Product Focus: DXS

Posted in: Uncategorized, product focus by Adrian at 10:00am 0 comments

INPS has formed a strategic alliance with DXS (UK) Ltd. to make DXS Point-of-Care available to all Vision users. This leading decision support solution makes new information sources available to the clinician during the patient encounter and is supplied completely free of charge.

In brief, the following content has been fully integrated into your Vision clinical system

  • in excess of 1 500 patient education leaflets (CHIQ accredited and Prodigy validated), including annotated illustrations;
  • up-to-date Travel Advice from the Hospital of Tropical Diseases, London and the World Health Organisation, Geneva;
  • a comprehensive medicines reference, categorised by therapy classification, including drug monographs, SPCs and PILs;
  • medical updates, including the eGuidelines publication, Cochrane abstracts, as well as current features from PULSE, The Practitioner and the UPDATE Journal (soon to include content that will form part of your PDP);
  • self-help and support group database.

DXS Point-of-Care is fully integrated with the Vision system. The context-sensitive links ensure that all the DXS information featured above is available, filtered to the current diagnosis in line with entries selected from the Vision Read Code dictionary.

Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the DXS Call Centre on Freephone 0800 028 0004 or e-mail info-uk@dxs-systems.com

QOF changes for 2008-9

Posted in: Uncategorized, nGMS/QMAS, clinical audit by Adrian at 8:45am 0 comments

INPS have prepared a document detailing the changes in QOF for 2008-9. It can be downloaded here.

In order for INPS to write the clinical audits for Vision reporting, we require the set of detailed Business Rules from the DH and it is possible that these will not be available until June or July. The Business Rules contain the detailed Read Code deletions and additions and timeframes for reporting so it is impossible for us to give specific
guidance.

This document is based on the information we do have already and will at least give some indications where clinicians and practices will need to be aware of the changes.
