Icons not displaying in Guidelines

Posted in: Uncategorized by Adrian at 11:54am 0 comments

vampman.PNGThe recent upgrade to DLM 265 has had an unfortunate effect on any INPS or other logo present in Guidelines. A bitmap that shows what some of our older customers may recognise as looking like the man from the old VAMP logo will appear in place of the INPS logo stating “Illustration Not Available” This has no effect on the working of the guideline and is purely cosmetic. The development team are working to fix the problem and hope that this will be released in a forthcoming DLM.

DLM 265

Posted in: Uncategorized, dlm by Adrian at 8:10am 0 comments

We are now starting to release DLM 265.

This DLM release is for a new compiler. A compiler translates source code (which is what our programmers write) into the Vision program that you see. We need to make this change to ensure we are using up-to-date technology, and this will allow us to write our code more efficiently in future. There is no functional change in this release.

Windows Service Pack 3 and CAB problems

Posted in: Uncategorized by Adrian at 4:31pm 0 comments
INPS have received a number of reports that suggest that there may be a conflict for some sites using integrated Choose and Book, when Windows XP Service Pack 3 is installed on the local machine.

Affected sites are:
  • Sites on hosted (VES) systems
  • Branch sites which connect to the main site via Terminal Services
  • Any machines at main sites which connect via Terminal Services

Until we are able to confirm that there is no conflict between CAB and SP3, we would advise users to defer from installing SP3. In order to prevent it from being installed as part of the automatic Windows Update process, you should run the Service Pack blocker from the link below: http://www.inps.co.uk/news/070319/2003SPBlocker.zip

Instructions on how to run this can be found here:
http://www.inps.co.uk/news/070319/2003SPBlocker.doc

Please note that this patch should be run LOCALLY on all machines (i.e. before you have logged into the Managed Service/Terminal Server). If you have already installed SP3, you should remove it from “Add and Remove Programs”.

  • Click on Start, and click Control Panel
  • Double click on Add or Remove Programs
  • Place a tick in Show Updates
  • Find the Windows XP Service Pack 3 update in the list.
  • Highlight it, and click Remove. Follow the instructions through to remove the update.
